Abstract:
An EPR spectroscopy-based procedure for direct determination of the interbead acidity of a crosslinked ion exchanger and the ionization constant of its functional groups with the use of pH-sensitive nitroxide radicals was proposed. The advantages of the novel method are illustrated by studying the acid-base equilibria in carboxylic KB-2 cation exchangers.
