Abstract:
A method for the construction of noise-suppressing adaptive algorithms for digital processing multichannel signals, which allows one to take into account both the mutual correlation of readings of the channel noises and their probability characteristics, is proposed. The basis of the method is a representation of the transformation of channel signals by means of a series expansion with respect to a system of orthogonal functions. The coefficients of this series are optimal with respect to the method of the least squares estimation for a deviation of the process at the output of the processing device from the informative signal. A system of functions that performs a multidimensional nonlinear quantization of the channel signals is proposed. The results of a study of digital data processing wide-band signals against a noise background in a 20-element antenna grid are presented. The proposed algorithms are commonly characterized by simple implementation with a small number of multiplication type operations, and by the reasonable memory capacity required. They are as good as the known algorithms for efficiency and outperform them in a number of cases. Copyright © 1996 by MAK Haya/Interperiodica Publishing.
