Abstract:
The properties of sintered steels, prepared by two methods, namely steam oxidation in electric furnace and in fluidized bed with rapid regime, are compared. Metallographic analysis shows that the composition of oxide phase is different depending on oxidation method (on heating rate and intensity of oxidizer supply). It is found that the corrosion resistance of workpieces of sintered carbon steels after rapid steam oxidation in fluidized bed is more by 8 folds than after electric furnace steam oxidation.
