Abstract:

A consideration is given to the design of electric fluidized bed heat treating furnaces now in operation which insure ecologically clean processes without resorting to molten salts, mineral oils and other chemicals. Specially designed electric fluidized bed furnaces are used for heating to quenching temperature, for tempering, light annealing, recrystallization annealing and other heat treatments of carbon, alloy and tool steels, as well as copper base alloys. Specifications and design of two shaft, electric fluidized bed furnaces are schematically represented.
