Abstract:
A method of determining the local convective heat transfer intensity on a hot model of a blast furnace is proposed. A study is made of the effect of the porosity and geometrical characteristics of the bed, the blast flow rate, and the degree of nonuniformity of the gas distribution on the heat transfer between the coke, the agglomerate, and the gas in the counterflow. A universal relation between the Nusselt and Reynolds numbers is obtained which describes the heat transfer both in individual particles of material and in moving and stationary beds nonuniformly blown with gas.
