Abstract:
This article presents an example of solving the optimization problem with the use of Plant Simulation system. The metallurgical production process has been considered in order to optimize the amount of wagons and the intensity of objects generation. The metallurgical production process has been divided into three processes: technological, logistic, and organizational processes. The minimization of the average and maximum wagons downtime has been chosen as an objective function of the problem considered. The research has shown a rather high efficiency optimizer Plant Simulation in solving the problem considered.
