Abstract:
During laboratory studies, the optimum conditions of leaching cadmium from the active mass of alkali accumulators in solutions of sodium ethylenediamine tetraacetate are established. At pH > 7, L: S = 7: 1, and t = 60A degrees C, 99.2\% Cd is extracted into the solution, while iron quantitatively remains in the hydrate cake. The methods for regenerating the solvent and obtaining cadmium oxide suitable for the fabrication of alkali accumulators are suggested. This technology is characterized by a high degree of recovery of cadmium into the commercial product, selectivity, environmental safety, the possibility of complete regeneration of the solvent, and the absence of harmful drains and secondary wastes.
