Abstract:
The reflection spectra of LiH and LiD single crystals cleaved in ultrahigh vacuum (2.8 x 10(-10) Torr) at a temperature of 8 K have been studied using synchrotron radiation in the 4-35 eV photon energy range. The electron structure of lithium hydride in the vacuum ultraviolet range is interpreted. A method of rapid determination of the isotope composition of mixed LiH (x) -LiD(1 - x) crystals is proposed that is based on the measurement of reflection spectra in the exciton range.
