Abstract:
Crystallographic analysis of special misorientations of the Sigma 9 type with an ``octahedral{''} orientation \{111\}< 112 > has been carried out. A hypothesis about the origination of the special misorientation Sigma 9 as a result of secondary twinning is suggested. A ``rule of selection{''} has been proposed, according to which the formation of secondary twins with a crystal-lattice orientation close to \{110\}< 001 > is possible upon rolling. The hypothesis allows us to explain the known fact of a small deviation of Goss grains from an ideal orientation in real electrical-sheet anisotropic steel (EAS) and a number of other experimental data.
