Abstract:

Measurements of the resistivity and the thermopower in the temperature region from 4.2 up to 1000 K of the pseudobinary Hf(FexCo1-x)2 series are presented. These experiments are completed by low-temperature specific-heat and susceptibility results. The measurements reveal the existence of spin fluctuations for 0 less-than-or-equal-to x less-than-or-equal-to 0.2, spin freezing around x = 0.3 and the local character of the Fe 3d moments in the ordered region.
