Abstract:
The magnetic and magnetoresistive properties, as well as the microstructure of polycrystalline layered Co/Cu films were investigated, It is shown that at certain thickness parameters, a highly dispersed structure of cobalt precipitates forms in the films and causes the existence of giant magnetoresistance. The magnitude and character of the variation of magnetization and magnetoresistance in a magnetic field are affected by the type of crystal lattice and the size of Co particles, which can be specified by heat-treatment conditions.
