Abstract:
The possible mechanisms of magnetic interlayer coupling in sandwiches has been analyzed on the basis of experimental data of coercive force, domain structure and microstructure of Fe15Co20Ni65/Cr/Fe15Co20Ni65 and Fe19Ni81/Cr/Fe19Ni81 films. By means of theoretical estimations we have shown that with increasing Cr interlayer thickness (L) the exchange interlayer coupling changes into a magnetostatic interaction which is due to either the interface roughness or the magnetization ripple for different L.
