Abstract:
Phase equilibria in the La-Sr-Ni-O system in air at 1100degreesC were studied by the method of the homogenizing annealing of samples prepared by means of solid-phase synthesis from oxides and carbonates or from nitrate and citrate precursors. The regions of homogeneity of the La2-xSrxNiO4 (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.8) (a K2NiF4-type structure) and La4-xSrxNi3O10 (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.05) (the space group Cmca) solid solutions formed in the system under these experimental conditions were determined. Strontium was shown to be virtually insoluble in La3Ni2O7. The structural parameters of the single-phase solid solutions were calculated using the Rietveld method. The isobaric-isothermal cross-section of the phase diagram of the system was constructed.
