Abstract:
Oxygen nonstoichiometry of La0.8Ba0.2CoO3-y has been studied by TGA and iodometric titration methods in the temperature range 700-1200 degrees C and oxygen partial pressure 1-10(-3) atm. The results were compared with those obtained for strontium substituted lanthanum cobaltates. An appropriate defect models which involve electronic disordering processes, and either randomly distributed point defects: V-O(-) or associated defects: (Co-Ca'V-O(-)) and (Co-Co'VO-CoCo) have been discussed.
