Abstract:
The effect of the specific features of structure formation in commercial iron on the set of its mechanical properties during multipass rolling in the ferritic range was investigated in some detail. It was shown that upon thermomechanical treatment (TMT), processes of both dynamic softening and static softening in the pauses between passes may develop with different degree of completeness depending on the rolling temperature. The effect of state-of-stress factors on the resistance to deformation and fracture of ferrite was studied using different regimes of TMT. The obtained data on the influence of the performed treatments on the mechanical properties suggest that the most efficient substructural strengthening, upon which high plasticity is ensured in a broad range of state-of-stress factors, was observed after deformation by 90\% in a rolling-temperature range of 600-700degreesC.
