Abstract:
Study of maghemite nanoparticles, native and coated with DMSA as magnetic fluid for biomedical applications, was carried out using Mossbauer spectroscopy with a high velocity resolution at 295 and 90 K. The obtained results demonstrated differences in Mossbauer hyperfine parameters for uncoated and DMSA-coated nanoparticles which were related to the interactions of DMSA molecules with Fe3+ ions on maghemite nanoparticle's surface.
