Abstract:
An improvement in velocity resolution of Mossbauer spectroscopy leads to high quality measurement with decreasing in experimental errors for hyperfine parameters and more reliable fitting of complicated spectra. Therefore, Mossbauer spectroscopy with high velocity resolution demonstrated new possibilities in biomedical research. Review of the first studies of iron-containing proteins and various pharmaceuticals measured in 4096 channels and presented in 4096, 2048 and 1024 channels clearly showed advantages of improved Mossbauer spectroscopy in biomedical research in comparison with studies using low velocity resolution spectroscopy (512 and 256 channels).
