Abstract:
The results of Mossbauer and positron life-rime study of oxyhemoglobin radiolysis were considered. The changes of iron-containing compounds resulting from oxyhemoglobin irradiation by gamma-rays and electrons were determined by Mossbauer spectroscopy. Variations of positron annihilation parameters of irradiated oxyhemoglobin indicated some structural modifications of protein molecule. It was shown that oxyhemoglobin radiolysis could depend on the type and energy of radiation as well as on oxyhemoglobin samples.
