Abstract:
The processes of extraction of the components from the ternary alloys of Cd-Zr-Al and Cd-Al-U into the electrolyte containing cadmium chloride as well as the processes of anodic dissolution of Cd-Zr-Al-U alloys were studied. It was shown that the presence of aluminum in the alloy under certain conditions suffices to block zirconium in the metallic phase, thus preventing its transfer into the saline melt and therefore favoring deeper separation of uranium and zirconium in the electrochemical treatment of Zr-U compositions.
