Abstract:
Formation of acoustic signals in hot-rolled sheet steel 09G2S subjected to stress in an aggressive medium has been studied. The development of corrosion-mechanical damage is accompanied by long-time acoustic-emission (AE) signals which represent packets with a large number of pulses. It is shown that the resistance to stress-corrosion cracking of the tank steel 09G2S in a 3.5\% aqueous solution of NaCl tested for 4000 h is half of the breaking stress obtained in air tests.
