Abstract:
New experimental evidence has been obtained confirming the significance of deep traps for thermal quenching of luminescence and establishing the main features of thermoluminescence (TL) of the dosimetric peak in alpha-Al2O3 crystals. The TL yield relative to the heating rate and the temperature dependence of the mean activation energy have been determined. The model of an interactive trap system has additionally been substantiated by results of investigations concerning the effect of the occupancy of deep traps on sensitivity, the shape of the dosimetric peak and superlinearity of the dose dependence.
