Abstract:
Mechanical properties and fracture surfaces of a refractory titanium alloy Ti - 8.3Al - 2.2Zr - 2.1Mo - 0.2Si - 0.15Fe are studied. It is shown that creation of a nonequilibrium structure by a short-term hold in the single-phase region results in higher mechanical properties of the alloy after subsequent aging.
