Abstract:
Modern mechanical engineering has destroyed the conventional structure of metallurgy, where profitability is now only possible for huge production volumes. In machine-building the conveyor technologies of assembly have been introduced on automated assembly centres, which can be easily readjusted for the different product designs. This is why readjusting has a negative effect on the economy of high-scale metallurgical production. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
