Abstract:
The effect of the Bi(Pb) substitution-induced strong increase of circular magneto-optics of iron garnets is theoretically analysed and a quantitative model of this phenomenon is suggested. The substitution is predicted to impart the anisotropic tensor character to the spin-orbit interaction. Results of the experimental magneto-optic spectra fitting confirm the suggested model.
