Abstract:
Na, K and Cs-beta-alumina films have been grown by solid state reactions of MAlO2 powders with alpha-Al2O3 single crystal and ceramic supports or with MgAl2O4 and Y3Al2O12 single crystal supports. It has been shown that the extent of perfection and the conductivity of the films reduces as the film thickness increases. The conductivity of Na-beta,beta{''}-Al2O3 thin films is comparable with the conductivity of single crystals.
