Abstract:
Heat and mass transfer processes of a single-component gas in a flat channel due to the resonant interaction of molecules with optical radiation are studied. The theory is based on the solution of linearized kinetic models at arbitrary Knudsen numbers. Two mechanisms of transport phenomena are considered. The surface light-induced drift and heat flux are caused by the difference in the accommodation coefficients for excited and ground state molecules. The so-called bulk mechanism of light-induced heat and mass transfer are caused by the difference in the kinetic cross sections for the excited and unexcited molecules. Kinetic coefficients characterizing these phenomena are calculated depending on Knudsen numbers and the detuning of radiation frequency from the center of the absorption line.
