Abstract:
The reproducibility of the contact angle of barium borosilicate glass on a steel substrate as a function of the method of preparation of the glass specimens is investigated. The contact angle is determined by the sessile drop method at 750, 760, 770, and 790 degrees C. The minimum scattering of data corresponds to glass specimens in the form of drops obtained by preliminary fusing of glass powder on an inert substrate (chamotte).
