Abstract:
Equations that describe the flow of conducting magnetic fluid in inhomogeneous magnetic field and diffusion of ferroparticles in this fluid are derived. On the basis of these equations, the Hartmann flow in a flat slit in the magnetic field normal to its plane is considered. It was established that if conductivity of the particles is higher than that of carrier liquid, the Hartmann number increases with particle concentration; if fluid is more conductive than particles, the Hartmann number decreases. Depending on the parameters of a system, particles will be accumulated near the slit edges or in the vicinity of the slit center during such flow.
