Abstract:

The structure and phase composition of four protective coatings on bolts of St3 steel were studied. The coatings were applied by two processes: a gas circulation method and a high-energy vacuum-plasma technique (HEVPT). The corrosion resistance of the coatings was studied in various media imitating food products (4\% acetic and lactic acids, 1\% soda solution, and distilled water). On the basis of sanitary and chemical studies, the developed coatings have been approved to protect the fasteners used in cheese-making vats in the dairy industry.
