Abstract:
Using the concept of Kalman's controllability matrix (Gramian) and defining an asymptotic Kalman matrix, a noniterative method is elaborated for qualitatively estimating controllability as applied to a linear stationery dynamic system. The concepts of amount of control, controllability degree, and controllability margin are defined. An approach to approximately decomposing a system into autonomous subsystems with these concepts is developed. These ideas are implemented as algorithms and programs for IBM compatibles.
