Abstract:
Presented in this paper are three versions of technical decision for autodyne radar, which provide the opportunity to measure simultaneously the velocity of objects motion and to detect the direction of their relative movement. The radar includes combined antenna connected to autodyne transmit-receive module with frequency conversion and decoupling wideband transformer, IF signal amplifier, frequency discriminator, amplitude detector, phase comparator and frequency counter. The direction of relative motion can be defined with the aid of phase shift between autodyne amplitude changes and frequency changes in the oscillator being influenced by the reflected reradiated signal. The testing of laboratory versions of autodyne radar has been fulfilled using Doppler signal simulator {[}6]. Actual tests of autodyne radar have shown that their activity range in the sense of velocity measurement of standard car ``FORD EXPLORER{''} is about 400 m., i.e. the devices offered do not yield in this technical parameter to Doppler velocity indicators used in police stations. Nevertheless, compared to known indicators, the devices offered ensure the determination of motion direction. This feature is especially important at development of measuring facilities for automated control systems of moving transport (e. g. detection of single-direction running infringers), cars at hump (cars upset forging on hump-yards for trains forming), heavily-loaded motor transport parking, etc.
