Abstract:
Metallography, X-ray diffraction, and differential thermal analysis were used to study solidification behaviour of ternary Fe-containing Ni(3)AI-based alloys. A schematic phase diagram of Ni(3)AI-Fe alloys at the solidus temperature was constructed for the homogeneity range of the gamma phase. Portions of the isothermal section at 1290degreesC of the ternary Ni-Al-Fe phase diagram and vertical (polythermal) section Ni3Al-->Ni-3(Al, Fe) up to 7 at. \% Fe were also constructed.
