Abstract:
A nondestructive analysis method is presented that is based on pulsed cathodoluminescence (PCL). It is excited by a high-current pulsed electron beam. Criteria are given for the beam parameters such that the specimen is not damaged but the analysis can be performed at room temperature in the atmosphere. It is shown that PCL can be wed in various areas, in particular in qualitative and quantitative determination of trace components and in recording phase transitions.
