Abstract:
A procedure for determining dynamic temperature characteristics of gas flows based on thermal imaging films is described. The instantaneous temperature field is determined by a temperature converting grid of thin threads made of a low thermal conductivity material. Three-dimensional arrays of a thermal imaging frame sequence are treated according to an algorithm allowing one to construct distribution fields of the temperature pulsation frequency. The systematic inaccuracy in measuring temperature is 0.3\%, the maximal random error of its determination is 0.5\%, and the error in calculating the temperature pulsation frequency does not exceed 12\%. The procedure can be used for both uncovering the heat transfer mechanism and for automatically controlling it in engineering aggregates.
