Abstract:
A computer model of the process of near-wall explosive boiling-up has been developed. The model is used to find geometric characteristics of explosive boiling-up (the length of the wetting line and the dry area), needed for calculation of heat transfer and construction of the general picture of vaporization. Numerical results have been compared with an approximate analytical theory, built without taking into account correlations in the nucleation process. Discrepancies between the results of modeling and the values obtained by theoretical formulas can be explained by correlation in the location of sequentially generated centers. The dynamics of propagation of the front of explosive boiling-up over the heater has been calculated at a predetermined temperature gradient.
