Abstract:
The previously described method of pulsed joule heating of jets is used to investigate limit superheating of microemulsions resulting from stratification of solutions with the lower critical dissolution temperature, as well as of aqueous suspensions with a solid microdisperse phase of aluminum or silicon oxides. It is shown that small additions of a second component of limited solubility are an efficient means for initiating nucleation and substantially lower the boundary of achievable superheating.
