Abstract:
Limiting superheating and the initial stage of boiling of aqueous solutions of H2SO4, HCl, KCl, NaCl, and KOH under atmospheric pressure were investigated by the method involving pulse Joule heating of a jet. The main characteristics are given of the experimental setup, photographs of the jet at the moment of boiling of liquid, and the concentration dependences of the temperature of limiting superheating of the solutions being investigated. The experimental results are compared with the estimates based on the data on the critical points of these solutions. The value of temperature of limiting superheating of water during uniform bulk heating was derived by extrapolation to zero temperature.
