Abstract:
The possibility of using magnetic and electromagnetic methods to estimate the abrasive wear resistance of hardened and tempered high-carbon steels, containing 1-2\% by mass of Mo, V, Mn, Si and Cr, is considered. Correlations between the coercive force, the generalized eddy-current parameter and the wear resistance are established for instrument steels investigated. The limits of applicability of the coercimetric and eddy-current methods for estimating the wear resistance at different annealing temperatures are considered.
