Abstract:

A kinetic equation of the martensite Formation was obtained for the case where this process is incomplete under isothermal conditions. The main role in the kinetics of martensite formation in this case belongs to nucleation. Fisher's, Kaufman-Cohen's, and Hillert's nucleation models were considered. A good agreement between experimental data and theoretical curves was obtained for the Kaufman-Cohen's model modified by Hillert.
