Abstract:
Use is made of the earlier model of an ideal associated solution which takes account of the presence in the melt of self-associates of various size and shape. The model is used for calculating the thermodynamic properties of binary eutectic systems. The results of calculations of the thermodynamic characteristics of mixing for 30 alloys are analyzed. Results are given of calculations of the dependence of eutectic point location in simple eutectics on the type of crystal lattice of alloy elements. Liquidus lines are calculated for Ag-Pb, Al-Sn and Cd-In alloys.
