Abstract:
Magnetic and magneto-optical properties of MBE grown Fe/Cr superlattices with composition MgO/Cr80 angstrom/{[}Fe t(x)/Cr 10 angstrom](n) (n = 30260, t(Fe) = 0: 9230 angstrom) are studied. The essential change of the TKE spectra occurs at t(Fe)<= p6.6 angstrom (4 monolayers). This can be associated with forming clusters, consisting of microareas of BCC Fe and FeCr alloys. The first evidence for the existence of the transverse Kerr effect in antiferromagnetic Cr film is given and its spectral dependence is measured in the range (h) over bar omega = (0.5-2.75)eV.
