Abstract:
Nonlocal magnetic susceptibility X of an incommensurate antiferromagnetic structure of the linearly polarized spin-density wave (LSDW) type has been calculated with allowance for intersublattice and intrasublattice exchange interactions. It has been shown that X as a function of the wave vector k can have maxima near the values k approximate to +/- q, where q is the wave vector of the LSDW. For this to occur, two conditions should be fulfilled. First, the intrasublattice exchange interaction J(id)(r) depending on the distance r should be an oscillating function of the form J(id)(r) similar to cosqrexp(-\textbackslash{}r\textbackslash{}/r(ex)), which is possible at qr(ex) > 1. Second, the intersublattice exchange interaction J(d)(r) should be weaker than J(id)(r). In this case, for the susceptibility (X)(r) we obtain a function of the form X(r) similar to cosqrexp(-\textbackslash{}r\textbackslash{}r(0)) with r(0) > r(ex) The parameters q and r(0) were determined from experimental data obtained on multilayered Fe/Cr films. Using these values, we were able to restore the quantities J(id)(0), J(d)(0), and r(ex). For the ratio J(id)(0)/J(d)(0), the following estimate has been obtained: 30 < J(id)(0)/J(d)(0) < 50.
