Abstract:
New perovskite-like compounds NaCu3V4O12 and CaCu3V4O12 were prepared using a high-pressure and high-temperature technique (p = 8 GPa, T = 1100degreesC, tau = 10 min). The compounds crystallize in the cubic system (space group lm 3, Z = 2) with lattice parameters of 7.25173(4) Angstrom and 7.28453(5) Angstrom, respectively. Structure solution for these compounds was based on X-ray diffraction data using the Rietveld method and the GSAS program package. The structure is formed by a distorted framework composed of regular vanadium-and oxygen octahedra. The sodium and calcium atoms occur at the centers of icosahedra and copper atoms are in square nets. The key bond lengths and angles were determined.
