Abstract:
The synthesis, X-ray diffraction characterization, and magnetic properties of one-dimensional complex oxide Ca3Cu0.5Ni0.5MnO6 (the K4CdCl6 structural type, space group R (3) over bar c; unit cell parameters a = 9.1488(15) Angstrom, c = 10.6016(24) Angstrom, V = 768.48 Angstrom(3)) are reported. The existence of a peak on the magnetic susceptibility versus temperature plot at 4.5 K suggests that the oxide has antiferromagnetic properties below this temperature.
