Abstract:
The discovery in 2001 of superconductivity in MgB2 (T(c)approximate to40 K) has stimulated numerous studies on the nature of superconductivity and other physicochemical properties of this boride and a large number of related compounds. Borides of more complex chemical compositions have been synthesized in searching for new superconducting phases. Basic results of theoretical and experimental efforts in these fields are reviewed.
