Abstract:

The regioselective synthesis of fluoroalkyl-containing beta-hydroxyketones by the reduction of the salts of the corresponding beta-diketones with LiAlH4 was proposed. This is the sole method for the synthesis of beta-hydroxyketones with two fluoroalkyl substituents.
