Abstract:

Data on the mineral and chemical compositions, microstructure, and properties of the quatzite raw material and country rock of the southern bed of the Karaul'naya deposit are presented. A combined study revealed 8 quartzite modifications. Six high-grade raw modifications totally march the specifications of GOST 9854-81 (grade K-98) ``Quartzites for dinas production.{''} The microinclusions found in the quartzites were assigned to fifteen secondary (accessory) minerals. The schistose country rock contained quartz, chlorite, carbonic compounds, mica (sericite), magnetite, and hematite.
