Abstract:

An X-ray study of the crystallographic texture of cold-rolled tantalum showed that even in thin foils (with thicknesses of 12 and 56 mu m) the texture is sharply inhomogeneous over the cross section, which is related to the strong contact friction and to the exceptionally high plasticity of tantalum.
