Abstract:
Process of smelting the refined ferrochrome has been considered. Slags formed during the process contain 44-52 percent of CaO and 22-27 percent of SiO2. The slags are decomposed after cooling. Decomposition of the slags is connected with presence of 2CaO·SiO2. Opportunity for assurance of resistance to the decomposition has been investigated. Results of the investigations have shown that the stabilization can be provided by physical and chemical methods. Crystal chemistry stabilization of the slags is highly efficient method. Regularities in process of stabilization have been found.
