Abstract:
The converter shops at the Karaganda Metallurgical Combine use pig irons with a high (up to 1. 2%) content of phosphorus. Plans are being made to produce more than 0. 5 million tons of high-phosphorus slags containing up to 14% P//2O//5 and more than 0. 5 million tons containing up to 6% P//2O//5. The slags also contain magnesium, manganese, iron, boron, sulfur, sodium, and other elements and can be used as fertilizers, especially for acid soils.
